Working With Answer Response Groups
An Answer Response Group is a group of possible answers to a question.
In the Setup area of the Settings page, click “Response Choices” and choose the “Answer Response Groups” tab. Answer response groups are group multiple possible answer choices together. A single answer choice can be in more than one answer response groups.
Each time new surveys are published, all questions including relevant answer response groups and answer choices are snapshotted. So any changes made won’t affect earlier iterations of the answer choice which may have been used on previous assessments. You can’t remove an answer response group that is currently used by a question.
Every answer response group must include at least one favorable and one unfavorable answer. A favorable answer has a multiplier value of 1, and an unfavorable answer has a multiplier of zero. Below is an example screen adding a new answer response group:
To specify multiple answer response groups at once, you can upload a CSV file. Use the following format:
FIeld 1 | Field 2 | Field 3 |
---|---|---|
Name of answer response group | Description | Comma-separated list of answer choice codes* (enclosed in quotation marks) |
*The code is a unique identifier for the answer choice. Some answers may have the same text, but a different multiplier, so you must use the code to specify the answer choice.
An example file with two answer response groups specified could look like this:
yes-no-na, “Yes, No or NA”, “yes1, no0, na”
Partial Yes Favorable, default yes favorable with partials, “1, part 75, part 50, part 25, 0”
